Winter-Flowering Heathers

Having put on quite a show from mid-December, the tired out blooms of winter-flowering heather are finally turning brown, giving the bushes a softer, somewhat autumnal hue, and making a strong contrast with surviving flowers of the white varieties. Some are already sending out new growth which will bear next year's flowers.
