In Bud

Everywhere you look at the moment you find buds just waiting to burst open as the miracle of spring unfolds. Today in our garden I found the wisteria buds just getting ready to cascade, while the flowering malus has deep pink buds making the tree look as if it's already in bloom. Our James Greaves apple is already showing a promise of glories to come with its lovely pink and white buds, colours which are echoed on the conference pear. The Kanzan flowering cherry is also showing pink, and the Victoria plum is now well under way, despite the best efforts of the woodpigeons.
