Salix at the roadside

This willow tree looks stunning as its trailing branches of yellow catkins are tossed around in the wind on a cold, cloudy day, giving a rather blurred image in the photograph. One of the earlier of the big trees to come into leaf and bloom, willows always stand out at this time of year amongst their still dormant neighbours.
