Quince Japonica

Quince Japonica have a long flowering period, often starting to show colour way ahead of their time when the danger of snow or hard frost hasn't even begun to pass. But they soldier on, sometimes being caught out, and the earliest blooms can be damaged by extreme cold. But as spring advances they come into their own, whether just spreading randomly in a border or being trained carefully up a fence.
