Tight buds of pyracantha are waiting for some warmth to spur them on to a brief display of tiny white flowers which will finally give way to the bright red berries of autumn and winter. But sadly some very invasive variegated periwinkle has crept under the fence from my neighbour's garden and is making free with the pyracantha which is having to act as a host to its vigorously growing guest. I will have to get in there some time to get rid of the visitor, but it's not a nice job poking around in the thorny pyracantha!
