Maple, rosemary, azaleas, blueberries, pansies and a single rose.

As spring advances, more interesting plants start to draw themselves to our attention. This potted Japanese maple almost died in the dry weather last summer, but has come into its own again this year. In the herb garden a few blooms of rosemary brighten things up a bit before the sage and oregano arrive. Azaleas are still looking attractive, and the blueberry bush nearby has started to bloom too. Pansies are giving it one last shot before they are over their best and must make way for other showy anuals, while a florist's rose, bought around Easter for indoor flowering, just about done all it can, and its last bud is looking beautiful.
