Autumn Mists

The walk down Mutton Lane on a damp, cold autumn day makes me feel that the seasons really are changing now.
Planning permission has been applied for to build four new houses on the derelict farm office site.

Walking out to the fields the hedge at Rose Farm still bears a reminder of the summer festivities.

It's every bit as damp and cold as it looks!

Oilseed rape has been sown to winter over in these fields.
Dogwood leaves on this variegated bush have turned impressively red, and the stems already show their bright winter colours.

This copse looks lovely with the change in colour.
A lovely splash of colour from the berries and leaves of this Spindle (Euonymus europaeus).
Brambles are turning as well.

The thorns on this dog rose look particularly impressive.
Cotoneaster provides a fine display in many gardens.
This heavily scented winter-flowering viburnum hasn't lost its leaves yet.
A hydrangea does all it can to resist the cold frosty nights, but it's a losing battle.
A lime tree sets off the village bus stop.

Some pheasant on the move.

Ivy climbing an old oak tree has fused itself into the bark.
